The price. Not to mention that it's hard to put down, so luckily, you can take your e-reader anywhere.

Q: Why did you go indie?

There's such an upheaval taking place in the publishing industry right now. It used to be that an author could send out query letters, and if their work was halfway decent, find a publisher. The Internet has totally changed everything. Nonfiction books are being replaced by websites at an alarming rate, plunging even the strongest publishing companies into a panicked frenzy. They’re losing revenue and they’re scared, which translates into fewer opportunities for writers via traditional routes. Add to that, the exciting new era in indie publishing, and the decision was really very simple. I could either work for years trying to break into an industry that may or may not collapse, or I could write now, publish now. That's what I decided to do.
