Q: What will e-readers like about your book?
Hopefully, they will like the way that I play with language. Words should have double meanings and multiple interpretations. I wrote this book for readers who like to question the world around them, especially people who enjoy dark re-interpretations of mythology and theology. According to a 5-star Amazon review from Bart Conrath, Let It Bleed “combines a variety of themes, some esoteric, such as Gnosticism, Lovecraft's mythos, and 80's punk and Goth culture with some bold descriptive passages”. In other words – something for everyone! The paperback version of Let It Bleed will launch in April 2011, for those that like the feel of real weight and paper in their hands.
Q: Why did you go indie?
Cause I’m quirky like that. I don’t know how to be anything but indie – I was a teenager right outside of Chicago during the 1980’s, and I will always have the punk rock aestheticism to follow the road less travelled.
Q: Who are your favorite authors in your genre?
Well, I think that Horror and Supernatural Dark Fiction and Mythpunk are all incestuous cousins, so please forgive me if my answer is cross-pollinated among the various genres. These days, I am really enjoying Gail Carringer and Theodora Goss. Other favorites include Clive Barker, F. Paul Wilson, Anne Rice during her Vampire years, and Martin Amis.
